Lebanon Course

Dear Avon friends,

I'm excited to announce that Lebanon will soon have an 18 hole disc golf course! I stood before the Parks board members tonight and gave my proposal, which was approved.

To fund this course, 18 sponsors will need to be secured at $500 each. Sponsors will receive permanent advertisement/acknowledgment on nearly 1/3 of the respective hole's 9x12 full-color aluminum tee sign (an example is posted below).

Lebanon High School's environmental club will be taking the preparation and installation of this course on as their project, allowing all donations to be tax-deductible.

The first 9 baskets will be installed as soon as soon as 6 sponsorships are secured.
The second 9 baskets will be installed once 12 sponsorships are secured.
Concrete tee pads and signs will be installed once all 18 sponsorships are secured.

Please help spread the word to see if there are any businesses, groups, or individuals that might be interested in sponsoring a hole. Also let me know if you have any connections or suggestions to acquire concrete and/or lumber at a significant discount.

If anyone is interested in helping, we will be working this Saturday morning til early afternoon at the Lebanon course.
We will be clearing brush on 3 holes and spreading mulch. This course is coming along very well and I expect it to be complete before the end of the year.

We are also starting the Boone County Disc Golf Club and giving a free club membership and custom stamped disc to those who significantly help prepare and install the course.

Progress of the Lebanon course (8 miles north of Hendricks County) is going great!
The baskets arrived Sept. 25th. I would love to get some help with installing baskets during the next two weeks (I'd like to have the baskets installed by Oct. 10). If you're interested in helping on any particular day over the next couple weeks, send me an email: brooksv@leb.k12.in.us

Also keep in mind that all volunteer groups that help in course installation will be acknowledged permanently on the course message board.

Progress Specifics:
We have 16 of the 18 holes sponsored.
We have a major workday scheduled for Oct. 10 to install the tee pad forms and spread mulch.
We have a company, Russo Concrete (owners are from Avon), donating the time of a six-man crew to work the poured concrete tee pads on a day the week after Oct. 10.
We hope to have a grand opening event in November.
